LD Systems provides sound for the Nögen social dining restaurant

An evening at Nögen (‘nøgen’ is Danish for ‘naked, uncovered’) is more than just a meal – it’s a statement. Located in the heart of the Danish city of Aarhus, the restaurant combines minimalist fine dining with a highly sustainable approach: Every week, new menus are created from leftover ingredients, inspired by the best regional products. The goal: to avoid food waste while offering an extraordinary culinary experience. As of recently, a combination of LD Systems loudspeakers and curated playlists from music-for-business specialist TuneButler provides the perfect acoustic backdrop for these consciously designed moments of indulgence.

Nögen sees itself as a flexible venue for both enjoyable weekday evenings and vibrant dinner parties at the weekend. The acoustic requirements for the audio system were correspondingly diverse: discreet background music during regular service, but also the option to connect DJs and achieve higher sound levels for private and business events. ‘The customer needed a solution that was suitable for both quiet background music and louder formats – with sufficient power reserves for events,’ confirms Kasper Hollænder, CEO of TuneButler.

Sound for all areas

LD Systems SAT 82 G2 8" 2-way installation loudspeakers and SUB 88 installation subwoofers were used in the main guest rooms, while CWMS 52 B 2-way wall loudspeakers were installed in the corridors and sanitary areas. Audio zone control is handled by an 8-zone matrix in combination with TuneButler's in-house music player hardware, allowing content to be easily distributed and customised – centrally controlled via the TuneButler system.

The interior of the Nögen combines raw surfaces such as bare walls with natural elements including moss installations and cork flooring. The installed loudspeakers therefore had to fit harmoniously into the minimalist interior design, not only acoustically but also visually. With their compact dimensions, discreet designs and reliable performance, the SAT and CONTRACTOR series from LD Systems proved to be the ideal choice for TuneButler and the Nögen owners.

Future-proof expansion

The existing sound system is currently being expanded to cover an additional 350 m² of sound reinforcement area: a new lounge area in the basement, a private dining room for exclusive events as well as a VIP room for company parties and birthdays.
