Our path to climate neutrality | Adam Hall Group

Our path to climate neutrality

Companies play a key role in building a sustainable economy and society. We are therefore also obliged to fulfil certain requirements and adhere to laws. As a company headquartered in Germany, we are therefore guided by German and European sustainability policy.

With the amendment to the Climate Protection Act to reduce Germany-wide emissions by 65% (compared to 1990) by 2030 and to be climate-neutral as a country by 2045, we also feel responsible for aligning our sustainability efforts with these targets and developing a long-term sustainability strategy that supports the global 1.5°C target.

Our Team Green – an affair of the heart

The issue of sustainability is close to the hearts of many of our colleagues. Whether ecological issues such as species protection, renewable energies, food waste or social aspects such as supporting local companies and associations – there are many reasons for this. They all want to make a contribution to greater sustainability and contribute their diverse ideas to this process.

That's why we founded "Team Green" in 2018, which is made up of colleagues from a wide range of departments. In this way, we ensure that we incorporate as many perspectives as possible on the topic of sustainability in order to develop the most comprehensive sustainability measures possible.

On the way to a holistic sustainability strategy

Since the beginning of 2022, we have been working on developing a holistic sustainability strategy that will be integrated into our corporate strategy in the long term. Our aim is to gradually incorporate the concept of sustainability into all areas of our company and to implement it wherever possible.

In order to be able to present a sound sustainability strategy in 2025, we have been working continuously since 2022 on three major projects in the areas of climate protection, sustainability reporting and sustainability management – carbon balancing, sustainability reporting and EMAS validation of our company.

Social standards in the supply chain/Compliance

As part of a global value chain, we are aware that our actions have an impact on our business partners and their employees. In order to fulfil our responsibility for these people, we are therefore guided by guidelines, frameworks and laws, as well as internal company standards. Our rules and standards should apply to all stages along the value chain.

As a result, both we and our suppliers have committed to common principles for our actions in our Code of Conduct.

Implementation of the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG)

A close and long-term relationship with our suppliers is very important to us. In addition to our self-imposed Code of Conduct, we have therefore concerned ourselves closely with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) since mid-2022 in order to be able to fulfil our corporate due diligence obligations in terms of human rights even before we are legally obliged to do so.

To this end, we work together with VDE Prüf- und Zertifizierungsinstitut GmbH, an external independent auditor that regularly carries out audits at our suppliers' premises in accordance with the LkSG. The data collected on quality management, social standards/human rights and environmental aspects is then incorporated into our in-house supplier and risk assessment and, in addition to compliance with the LkSG, should also help to improve the quality of our products in the long term and reduce the amount of quality-related waste.
