Cameo at Dubai Global Village – Oasis Enterprises LLC creates spectacular light installation for an audience of millions

More than 6 million visitors per season, over 25 country pavilions and a wide range of cultural, entertainment, dining and shopping experiences: the Global Village in Dubai is one of the largest leisure and event destinations in the Middle East and is particularly impressive after sunset thanks to the variety of visual effects it offers. Among the highlights is a light show lasting around five minutes, which takes place several times a day in the centre of the vast outdoor area. To illuminate the approximately 29-metre-high tower and the surrounding pavilions, the system integrator responsible, Oasis Enterprises LLC, has opted for an extensive Cameo setup comprising PIXBAR LED bars and ORON H2 beam moving heads.

At the heart of the lighting design are more than 280 Cameo PIXBAR SMD IP G2 LED bars, which are mounted vertically along the entire height of the tower and create a variety of eye-catching effects. “The PIXBARs were the key creative element of our lighting design,” explains Richard Burton, Entertainment & Themed Environment Manager at Oasis Enterprises LLC. “Thanks to the strobe function, we were able to overlay glitter and sparkle effects onto the colours without distorting the colours themselves. This allowed us to showcase the tower’s visual appearance with much greater flexibility.”

The setup is complemented by the Cameo ORON H2 beam moving heads, which are positioned on the roofs of the pavilions and are visible far beyond the Village’s grounds thanks to their powerful sky-beam effects. “The ORON H2s create an impressive light display that can be seen from near and far, giving the light show a presence even outside the park,” confirms Richard Burton.
