Adam hall group responsibility door

Climate neutrality

Climate protection is not a destination, it’s a journey. An odyssey that we have embarked on with determination. We endeavour to act responsibly with every step we take as a company and every CO₂ molecule saved.

Our guiding principle is to “First avoid, then reduce, and finally compensate.” In doing so, we centre our efforts on transparency, measurability, and continuous progress. We are doing our part to achieve the goals of the German Climate Protection Act and its mission for climate-neutrality by 2045. We have been working on our own comprehensive sustainability strategy since 2022.

Making a difference through carbon footprinting

Reliable data supports us in making specific improvements. That is why we did our first carbon report back in 2022. Since then, we have continuously optimised our database, made emissions transparent – even beyond our German location – and gained new perspectives on our supply chains. This supports us in making wise choices: to reduce carbon emissions wherever possible. And where necessary. And to compensate where no alternative exists. Our targets are aligned with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) – for climate goals that truly deliver.

Adam hall group progress visible

Making progress visible

We see transparency as a commitment to pursuing our goals openly, with verifiable results. Although reporting our sustainability performance is not yet a legal requirement, we began getting ready for this in 2021. We have been measuring our emissions and working on a smart ESG reporting system ever since. We are developing our report not because we have to, but because we truly believe in it. After all, sustainability is more than just a chapter in our annual report. It is the future we want to play an active part in shaping.

Adam hall group preserve repair

Preserving the proven

Some of our first products such as our wooden flight cases are still being used today. That is because our motto has always been to repair instead of throw away. Our systems are constructed in a modular and durable way, making them very efficient. They can be repaired even after many years. We guarantee that our spare parts are available for up to ten years, and we deliberately invest in quality, protective coatings, and durable materials. Our repair service ensures that products stay where they belong: in use and not in the rubbish.

Rethinking what the future needs

Innovation is just as important as reduction when we improve the sustainability of our products. That is why our R&D work always incorporates aspects of sustainability into every new project. We research the energy efficiency of lights, use materials that are more easily recycled, and develop new business models such as leasing systems and materials recycling systems. We strive to use less resources with a bigger impact. That’s because sustainability doesn’t mean less performance for us, but instead smarter solutions.

An example that makes us proud!

Our DEFENDER cable protectors are made out of 90 % recycled thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). They are produced in Germany without any harmful PVCs and are ready to take on any challenge. And when they've reached the end of their life? Then the material is used again. After all, the closed-loop economy isn’t a distant vision – it is the next step.

Eco Management and Audit Scheme

EMAS – our system for greater responsibility

We have been validated under EMAS since October 2024. We use the EU’s “Eco-Management and Audit Scheme” to think about our processes in new ways and to document, evaluate, and improve them. We set goals for ourselves and make our advances visible. EMAS serves as our compass for sustainability within our daily business activities – for method-driven environmental protection. It helps us to systematically assume responsibility and advance improvements.

Adam hall group team green

Team Green – growing out of conviction

Sustainability is a mindset that prevails throughout the entire Adam Hall Group. Our “Team Green” is made up of volunteer employees from different departments who work in tandem with our CEO Alexander Pietschmann and are dedicated to tackling issues through a sustainable approach – and they’ve been doing it since 2018. Our journey is strategic in nature but also emotional and mindful. We always have ambitious goals, but achieve them in small steps. Since obtaining EMAS validation in 2024, Team Green has actively supported us in implementing our environmental goals – with projects, ideas, and measures that show that “Engagement flourishes when it is collaborative”.

Supply chains – responsibility continues well beyond the factory door

We have been intensively preparing for the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) since 2022. We choose to lead rather than wait for legislation; we act fairly, humanely, and responsibly because we believe in doing so. We work with the VDE Institute to regularly audit our partners in terms of their working conditions, environmental standards, and quality processes. Not only does this help us comply with the LkSG, it also improves our products.

The outcome: For us, sustainability is simultaneously a way of thinking, a way of acting, and a pledge to future generations. We believe in the power of taking many small steps. And that major achievements are possible through teamwork.
