The modular DEFENDER® MIDI 5 Cable protector was developed on the basis of our popular DEFENDER® MIDI Cable protector for optimum wheelchair crossing. It consists of a MIDI-compatible centre section and a flat ramp that can be extended and combined as required, both in length and width. With extremely easy handling.

The issue of accessibility in particular has increasingly become the focus of event organisers and authorities in recent years. With conventional Cable protector systems, a compromise often had to be made between barrier-free access and manoeuvrability. With the new DEFENDER® 2D M, things are different: a ramp with a 6° incline that can be completely driven over and is also wheelchair-accessible is attached to each centre section. The flat incline makes it easier for wheelchair users to cross the ramp effortlessly and is so stable that it can also be used by forklift trucks and lorries.

The system can be extended in length and width as required. This ensures effortless accessibility and safety even in areas where five channels are not enough, e.g. near power generators or the FOH. Sound, lighting and power cables can be laid individually, effortlessly and safely. The completely symmetrical design of the centre sections makes installation easier and you never have to search for the right attachment part again. There is also no need for precise assembly plans. Thanks to this symmetry, optimum stability in the longitudinal and transverse directions can be achieved by laying centre sections and ramps in a semi-bond, while at the same time dispensing with lost parts such as adapters and bones. The connections were designed in such a way that they have enough play for easy assembly and still offer sufficient stability. If the Cable protectors are to be installed without ramps, adapters are available for connecting the centre sections in the longitudinal direction.
