EsKlandestino relies on audio and lighting technology from LD Systems and Cameo

Event location with a flexible atmosphere

The EsKlandestino event location in Barcelona, Spain, offers an atmospheric environment for a variety of event types – from private parties to gala evenings and product presentations, to concerts and recording sessions. To be able to offer the premises – with its open roof construction of steel girders and wooden beams – to the widest possible clientele, the operators have recently invested in modern audio and lighting technology. In addition to four individual audio and sound zones, the sophisticated lighting concept, in combination with the building's architecture, creates an atmospheric ambience in each area. For the implementation of the sound and lighting design, the two service providers – DotPlusAV (technical planning) and Elenco Audiovisión (delivery and installation) – relied entirely on solutions from Cameo and LD Systems.

Intuitive operation

The big advantage at EsKlandestino is the intuitive operation of the technology. This means that the versatile audio and lighting system can be operated independently (that is, without instruction by technical staff) and can be individually adjusted to any upcoming event. At the centre of the setup is the LD Systems ZONE X 1208 DSP matrix. DotplusAV and Elenco Audiovisión used the extensive possibilities of the DSP engine for programming several presets to switch different audio and lighting configurations. The presets of the ZONE X 1208 are easily accessed via the QUESTRA Touch Panel 5.

Flexible sound reinforcement

In the search for the optimal sound system, the EsKlandestino operators set two core conditions: the loudspeakers were to integrate harmoniously into the room architecture, as well as meeting the highest sound requirements. With the choice of the LD Systems CURV 500 Portable Array System, DotPlusAV and Elenco Audiovisión were able to fully convince the demanding end customer.

All in all, the CURV 500 S2 array satellites were distributed in clusters of three and four throughout the event location to cover the entire space acoustically. The four controllable audio zones include the stage, first delay, room mid-end second delay, and the disco area. For mounting on the trusses, DotplusAV and Elenco Audiovisión used CURV 500 TM B truss mounts, which also allowed for the individual alignment of the respective satellite clusters to the individual areas.

Supporting the bass range are two CURV 500 I SUB 10" installation subwoofers. The CURV 500 system at EsKlandestino is controlled and driven by two CURV 500 I AMP 4-channel Class-D installation power amplifiers. For parties and live events that place even more demands on the sound pressure achieved, DotplusAV and Elenco Audiovisión aimed two flown Stinger 12 A G3 full-range PA speakers at the dance floor.

Modern lighting technology

The basic lighting at EsKlandestino is achieved via 24 Cameo ROOT PAR 6 LED PAR spotlights. With their versatile RGBAW+UV configuration, the ROOT PAR 6s provide both coloured basic tones and flexible white. For the stage area, Cameo TS 200 FC theatre spots are used, while in the outdoor area, powerful THUNDER WASH 600 RGBW wash lights provide wide-area illumination of the building.
