Cameo sets the 2022 Isla Bonita Love Festival La Palma aglitter

A beacon of tolerance

One of the most lively and vivid events around was once again held on the Canary Island of La Palma at the end of July: the Island Bonita Love Festival. The open-air festival’s sixth edition celebrated the rich diversity of the LGBTQ community and featured national and international artists and bands, such as Alejandro Sanz, Todrick Hall and Nicki Nicole. Sonopluss Canarias SL was in charge of the lighting for the festival stage and used Cameo ZENIT® W600 SMD outdoor LED washlights to do so.

In addition to its efficient and versatile range of scenic lighting, the ZENIT® W600 SMD ultimately won over the service provider Sonopluss Canarias with its colourful strobe effects. ‘The decision was also based on practical reasons’, says Simón Higuera. ‘The spotlight is not only relatively compact and very powerful, but we were impressed by its many different installation options and ease of use.’

How the lights were used

All spotlights were attached to trusses. The ZENIT® 600 SMDs were suspended from the main truss and mounted to side truss elements to ensure effective lighting of the entire stage setting, the artists, the video walls as well as the front area and aisle. True to the Isla Bonita Love Festival’s overarching theme, the spotlights displayed the typical LBGTQ colours on repeat and shed powerful light around with the multifunctional ZENIT® W600 SMD, which features 504 SMD 4-in-1 LEDs in total and a max. luminous flux of 41,000 lm.

The Isla Bonita Love Festival was the first time Simón Higuera and his team at Sonopluss Canarias used their recent investment: the ZENIT® W600 SMD. As an outdoor-compatible multifunctional wash light, the servicer provider will use the Cameo ZENIT® W600 SMD at further festivals to come this summer.
