Cameo illuminates Technogym headquarters in the CI colour of the world-famous bike race

Countdown to the Giro d'Italia

In May 2023, the 106th edition of the Giro d'Italia cycling race will take place and lead the professional cyclists over a total of 3448.6 km to the big finish in Rome. Exactly 100 days before the start of the first stage, the Italian fitness equipment manufacturer Technogym started a media-effective countdown and staged its headquarters in Cesena with impressive façade lighting. The chosen colour was self-evident: Pantone 1905C, Maglia Rosa – the CI colour of the cycling race and also the name of the pink jersey worn by the overall leader of the Giro. To match the shade perfectly, the integrator Planet Service srl, from San Marino, relied on 40 Cameo ZENIT W600 Outdoor LED Wash Lights.

The Technogym Village in Cesena is not only symbolically linked to the Giro; it is also the arrival point for the time trial stage on May 14. The campus includes the Technogym headquarters, the research and innovation centre, the production facilities, and a wellness centre open to all athletes, coaches, support teams and other staff. To highlight the architectural structure of the building, Planet Service needed particularly bright wash lights to make the installation work both from a distance and for aerial photography with a drone.

The lighting designer in charge, Mirco Mazzoni, chose the Cameo ZENIT W600 Outdoor LED Wash Lights for their performance, versatility and IP65 certification for trouble-free outdoor use. Equipped with a total of 40 x 15-watt RGBW LEDs producing a high luminous flux of 21,000 lm, Mazzoni's ZENIT W600s were distributed around the futuristic modern building with its asymmetrically curved design and illuminated from the ground.
