Aitana live in Madrid

Fluge Audiovisuales stages stadium show with Cameo OTOS W12

At the end of July 2025, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid was transformed into a huge open-air stage for one of Spain’s biggest pop acts: in front of around 100,000 fans, Aitana presented a spectacularly orchestrated stage show over two evenings with her combination of energetic Latin pop hits, emotional ballads and expressive visuals – with the technical aspects realised by the team from Fluge Audiovisuales, and Experiencias Visuales who were responsible for the lighting design. The Cameo OTOS W12 IP65 wash moving heads stood (or hung) at the centre of the stage lighting, forming a kinetically movable matrix comprised of several rig blocks.

Large, open, dynamic

For light producer Pedro Campos from Fluge Audiovisuales and his team, the stadium setup was a challenge in more ways than one: “The venue is huge, open and unprotected – so we had to propose equipment that was not only powerful, but also extremely robust.” The OTOS W12s impressed in this respect, not just with their IP65 weather protection, but above all with their combination of light output, speed and versatility. “They are perfect for a show like this, from the intimate ballad to the explosive finale.”

The arrangement of the moving lights, which were mounted in rectangular truss elements as a matrix above the stage and constantly moved to new positions during the show – whether for wide washes, targeted beam accents or powerful colour effects, all coordinated with the choreography, videos and the dynamics of the songs – was particularly eye-catching. OTOS W12s were also used on the sides of the stage to create spatial depth and visual width.

'The OTOS W12 is incredibly versatile. The light designers were able to create a variety of looks with just one type of light, something that previously required several fixtures.'

Light as visual storytelling

“The aim of the show was not to have an exaggerated light show – the designers wanted a visual language that matched Aitana´s music and supported the connection with the audience,” explains Pedro Campos. The lighting team therefore relied on changing moods to accompany each phase of the concert – from clean white light during quiet moments to lively, fast colour changes during the dance tracks. The OTOS W12 was the central tool in this: “The speed of movement is enormous – the designers team were able to realise extremely fast transitions without it appearing technically unstable. At the same time, we were able to rely on the excellent colour rendering even at high light intensities.”

Suitable for stadiums and future-proof

In an environment that places the highest demands on technology, timing and logistics, the OTOS W12 once again proved itself to be a stadium-ready all-rounder at Aitana’s stadium shows. “Robust, bright, fast and absolutely reliable” is how Pedro Campos summarises the advantages of the IP65 wash moving head. For Fluge Audiovisuales, Cameo is a partner they have consistently relied on for a while now: “The brand combines innovation with practicality – which makes it one of our first choices for large productions.”

'The OTOS W12s exceeded our expectations – they were the backbone of the lighting design.'
