The Powermixer PM122/PM162 designed in Germany exclusively for LD Systems includes all the features needed to operate a small high quality Club-PA with the minimum of wiring. The mixer has 12 (16) channels, 8 (12) of which are mono, with line and microphone inputs. The remaining channels, 9/10 and 11/12 are set up as stereo line inputs. Each individual channel has switchable phantom power with LED, gain control, Hi, Lo and semi-parametric Mid tone controls. Low frequency hum or noise can be filtered out with the help of the LoCut switch. There are 4 Sends: FX post-fade, 2 x Monitor pre-fade and one Auxiliary switchable pre/post-fade, Pan, Mute with LED, PFL with LED Level Meter which also doubles as Peak indicator and a 100mm Fader completing an impressive configuration for its class. The stereo channels are similar but utilise the simplified, classic Hi and Lo tone controls. The master section is full of well thought out, useful details. All FX, Monitor, and AUX sends are controlled with 100mm Faders. The master LR also utilises a 100 mm stereo fader.

The built-in 14 preset digital effect unit offers a choice of the most popularly used combinations of echo, delay and reverb. Using versatile routing, the effect signal can not only be returned to the master LR outputs, but also be introduced into the two Monitor sends, as well as the Auxiliary send. The internal effects can be switched off using an optional footswitch. A nine band graphic equaliser can be switched between the LR outputs or the two monitor channels to shape the sound. This can also be switched off to compare the tonal effect with the unregulated sound.

Beside the stereo LR master is a regulated mono output with a switchable Lo-pass filter allowing you to feed a sub-woofer without the need of a separate crossover. Naturally there is also an obligatory controllable headphone output, as well as two RCA phono sockets with volume control for recording purposes. Besides individual Mute and PFL/AFL monitor functions, all with LEDs, for each channel, there is also a Standby switch which mutes the complete console except for the Tape/CD inputs. This allows music to run during live performance breaks.

The integrated stereo power amplifier delivers 2 x 700W into 4Ohms and 2 x 500W into 8Ohms. The amplifier has a Class H configuration to improve its efficiency and reduce its operating temperature. The outputs are connected using Speakon sockets to the loudspeakers.

Using a simple routing arrangement, the amplifiers can be internally connected to the two monitor signal paths or the main LR outputs, combined with other routing possibilities using the jack inserts. All relevant outputs are semi-balanced with a floating ground using TRS jacks. The amplifier can be fed from an external sourcemusing the switchable jack sockets (inserts) over its own volume controls. The master section also has insert sockets for use with external effect units. Signal paths can be monitored utilising the 2 x 12 point LED strip. The stereo amplifier inputs also have separate Signal and Clip LEDs.

A new and improved design including a new DSP. The PM162 is the bigger brother of the PM122, it offers 4 additional mono channels. Otherwise the configuration and power is the same in both models. The new DSP section s easy to use and offers 128 Effects.
